About The Author

My name is Kirk Rothrum, and Bill Rothrum was my grandfather.  I came to possess all of my grandfather's wonderful memorabilia, and I consider this website a calling of sorts, that was long overdue.

Though he passed away in 1989 when I was just 18, I identify more with him than perhaps any other member of my family, past or present. I'll always attribute my penchant for all things audio, and my joy for public speaking and voice over, to the wonderful genes he passed down to me.

He gave me my first Mr. Microphone as a Christmas gift (and was kind enough to thoroughly test it first!),

and to this day, my most prized possession is his RCA 44BX (both pictured below).

I'd have likely followed his path into broadcasting, if in this day one could make a more livable wage doing the part of the job he loved and eventually missed; announcing. Instead, his genes shine through in recording, sound design, MCing, voice over, and many other ways.

I love you grandpooh. I hope you get the nod you deserve for all you've done.
